Engr. Onwunyirigbo Chudi, Director (Power Projects)

He holds an m.sc in mechanical engineering from the university of port harcourt and an mba (executive management) from the university of science and technology, port harcourt. He is a coren registered engineer.

He is presently a consultant to independent power plant (ipp) promoters and an expert in the power projects value chain.

Having graduated from school in 1981 and subsequent mandatory nysc engagement in 1982, was employed by the national electric power authority (nepa) in 1983 as a pupil engineer to undergo scheduled engineering training and substantive duty post in power plants all over nigeria. His training cuts across steam thermal plants, gas thermal plants, coal-fired steam thermal power, and hydropower plants including sapele steam thermal, sapele gas turbine, oji power station (coal), kainji hydro power station, lagos steam thermal station egbin, etc.

Equally of note is his experience in delivering high quality and precise specification technology which saw him successful in the tyre industry, michelin nigeria ltd as the manager in charge of power, energy, and fluids between 1990 and 1999.

He has been involved with dredging for about three years as a project manager for a naoc project at agbaragada, near kwale in delta state comprising of: access road sand filling from river niger, construction of flow station, campsite, helipad, waste pits, material storage facilities, etc.

A team player who successfully managed a group of five manufacturing companies in aba, udeagbala holdings nig. Ltd as general manager from 2004 to 2009, which saw the successful attraction and installation of tura soap manufacturing line in nigeria.

In september 2009, he went into consultancy, to explore the emerging opportunities in the power sector of the economy as the federal government became more committed to the reforms in that sector.

Presently, he is with banner energy ltd as the director in charge of power -projects and gas terminal development. He has formed a team to use lpg as an alternative fuel for power generation.
